Cleaning Has Never Been Easier Than It Is Now

The innovative AKQA, from the world’s largest advertising group WPP, has partnered with Dyson to develop Dyson Link - mobile software that communicates with The Dyson 360 Eye™ robot to carry out connected cleaning from anywhere. On 4th September 2014 at the Tokyo Tower, one of Japan's tallest buildings, James Dyson unveiled the latest technology of the Dyson 360 Eye™ robot vacuum cleaner and high performance that you won’t find in any other robot vacuum. The intelligent robot was launched in front of hundreds of journalists in a specially designed venue that surrounded media with a 360˚screen.

Dyson Link - mobile software that communicates with The Dyson 360 Eye robot

The Dyson 360 Eye™ robot has the most powerful suction of any robot vacuum and is powered by the Dyson Digital Motor. It uses an intelligent 360˚ vision system to create a map of its surroundings to assess where it is, where it has cleaned and where it has yet to clean. The Dyson digital motor generates powerful suction and can even separate the smallest particles of dust and dirt from the airflow. With its full width brush bar it allows maximum cleaning coverage and the continuous tank tracks maintain its speed and direction across all floor types.

Dyson Link for iOS and Android utilises machine-to-machine communication to enable people to start, pause or schedule cleaning sessions from anywhere. It also provides a cleaning path map as real-time feedback, along with intelligent user support. The Dyson 360 Eye™ robot and Dyson Link were announced and demonstrated recently in Tokyo as well as at IFA, the leading consumer electronics and home appliance trade show in Berlin.

AKQA chief creative officer James Hilton said, “We worked closely to create software that transforms the lifestyle and productivity of the consumer. The work aims to make everyday tasks easier by controlling Dyson’s powerful robotic vacuum cleaner from your pocket.”

AKQA CEO Ajaz Ahmed said: “We were delighted to have the opportunity to create the future with Dyson, a true pioneer in engineering and design.”

WPP is investing in a new digital media production firm

In other news, WPP has made a strategic investment in a new digital media production firm, founded by the team behind the YouTube channel WIGS. The ad giant will take a significant minority stake in Indigenous Media, which will focus on producing scripted hour-long and half-hour long series for digital platforms worldwide. WPP and ITV will handle advertising and distribution allowing Indigenous to focus on the creation of content.
